Rain arrives later on today. Sticks around through Sunday afternoon.

Rain chances return to the area today.  The trend over the past couple of days and the last couple of runs has been to grab onto more moisture and higher rain totals.  That trend has continued this morning and for most it appears you can expect to see about three quarters of an inch of rain over the weekend in the way of light rain showers.

Rain begins as soon as 5p today. Continues into Sunday afternoon

Most of the rain will fall overnight tonight.

Overall this weekend will stay warm with today’s highs likely two to three degrees warmer than yesterday’s high.  Sunday highs will likely be a degree or two cooler than today.  Behind this low pressure area we will actually see temperatures surging with highs hitting 70 on Monday and possibly 80 on Tuesday.

For those with outdoor plans this weekend it looks like in Indianapolis the city should remain dry through about 5p.  After that rain will return.  No severe weather is expected as most should see just a consistent rain with a few slow rumbles of thunder.  Enjoy your day.

Record rainfall possible this weekend.
