An isolated chance for rain will be with us through 8p. .

Spotty rain showers will continue throughout the day today with an additional quarter to half inch of rain possible through 8pm tonight.  Severe weather is not likely today but there is an isolated chance for a storm with some lightning embedded in it.  The length of time of the rain and the amount of rain should limit any new flooding across the area, but will slow the decline of river levels in communities where they continue to see flooding this morning.

After today we will see a surge of heat with high temperatures near 70 degrees on Monday and in the upper 70s from Tuesday through Thursday.  There will be a small chance for rain north of Indianapolis on Tuesday.  Rain chances really begin building heading into next weekend as an upper low dips down into Missouri and Southern Illinois.  There’s a lot of uncertainty on the exact track, timing and the potency of this upper low next week.  At this point I’d just expect to be running in rain if you’re running in next Saturday’s Mini Marathon.
