A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car Monday.
The accident happened in the 7900 block of Hague Road, near just before 6 p.m.
Police said 85-year-old John Ferguson was attempting to cross Hague Road when a southbound driver hit him. Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a public police report, both the involved driver and witnesses told police they saw Ferguson “dart” into the southbound lanes.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. Speed is also not believed to be a factor.
The driver was taken to Wishard Hospital for a blood draw as is standard protocol in all fatal accidents.
The accident remains under investigation.
