A special celebration along Georgia Street is planned for this weekend.

The Tested by Fire festival will be hosted by St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

It will help raise money for the church’s restoration work, after an arson in February.

The event is also a way for the church to say thank you.

“It was very close to being a much worse situation, but the local firefighters immediate responses were just awesome, as well as the police and special investigation team,” said Father Rick Nagel.

The festival will run from 2 until 10 a.m. Saturday along Georgia Street. It will feature live music and food, a cornhole competition with cash prizes and a silent auction.
