ZIONSVILLE, Ind.– Zionsville Community Schools was placed on a perimeter lockdown Friday morning due to a domestic dispute that affected a couple of students, said the school’s principal in an e-mail to parents.

Principal Tim East said the school will remain on lockdown for the remainder of the day. Teachers have been instructed to postpone or reschedule any planned outdoor activities Friday.

All the doors in the high school will be locked.  Visitors must go through designated areas to gain entry into the building. Students will also not be allowed to leave the building for lunch and must stay in the cafeteria.

“The safety of our students is a top priority and we appreciate the support of the Zionsville Police Department and the entire Eagle Family for their vigilant support of this goal,” read the letter.

East said there will be a police officer within and around the building throughout the day.
