The United States Postal Service is working to end hunger.

Saturday, May 11, they’ll be collecting food as a part of their Stamp out Hunger campaign.

Residents are asked to leave a bag of nonperishable items at their mailbox.

Examples of non-perishable items include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned soup
  • Canned meats and fish
  • Canned vegetables, fruits and juices
  • Boxed goods (such as cereal)
  • Pasta and rice

Letter carriers will deliver the food to a local food bank.
