IMS officials confirm zip line will be installed for Indy 500

For the first time ever, Indy 500 fans will be able to enjoy a zip line as a part of the festivities.

IMS officials announced Wednesday that a pully and harness have been installed at The Racing Capital of The World.

The zip line will reach 32 feet in the air and be 200 feet in length.

It  will be located just north of Tower Terrace and run parralell to cars roaring out of Turn 4.

The zip line and will be operational from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, May 17, 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 18 and 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Each ride on the Tower Terrace zip line will cost $5.

That zip line then will move to the IMS Snake Pit presented by Miller Lite – located inside Turn 3 of the IMS infield – for operation from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Race Day – which is Sunday, May 26.
