Randy Jackson: Yo dawg, I’m out

After 12 seasons on “American Idol”, Randy Jackson announced Thursday that he his leaving.

The 56-year-old said he’s leaving the show to focus on his record label.

Jackson first appeared alongside Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul when the show premiered back in 2002. He became famous for his laid-back attitude. “Yo, dawg” became one of his most popular catchphrases.

Rumors that the entire judging panel – which includes Jackson, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban – will be replaced have been swirling recently.

This season of “American Idol” concludes next week.
