Indianapolis Cultural Trail celebrates official opening

More than 70 programs and activities were planned for Saturday as part of the opening of the completed Indianapolis Cultural Trail’s “Get Down On It” celebration.

Participants of the celebration enjoyed free admission to the Indiana Historical Society.

They also took part in the Indiana Avenue street festival with live music a kids zone and a history walk led by Madame Walker Theatre Center docent, Tom Ridley.

The IPS Marching Band paraded from Indiana Avenue toward the City Market.

Although the official ribbon cutting was Friday, Saturday was the first day for the trial to be officially open to the public.
