PLYMOUTH, Ind.—A Plymouth man in was killed after his clothing got caught in farming equipment Monday morning.

The Marshall County Coroner’s Office said Rick Pertics, 61, got his clothes caught in a shaft connecting an engine and pump on an irrigation device.

Authorities said Pertics told his wife he would be tending to the irrigation equipment during the night, but when he did not return the following morning, family members went to the field to look for him.  When they arrived, they found his body next to the equipment.

It is unclear when Pertics was killed.  Autopsy results confirmed his death was caused by severe internal injuries, but the official cause of death will not be available for approximately six weeks.
