Scattered rain chances remain in place today for Central Indiana. This is no guarantee that you will see rain in your neighborhood, but the chance for rain will be there. Overall you would think the best chance for rain would be down to our south as a vort max (energy) slides over Tennessee and pushes off to the east, but model data continues to show the best chance for rain actually north of Indianapolis. We still have a weak boundary in place draped across the state and this will also act as a trigger for afternoon storms. Overall while we cannot be certain it looks like places northwest of Indianapolis will have the best chance for rain today. Communities like Lafayette and Kokomo could see about a half inch of rain with other places seeing far less.
The weekend is looking drier with only a small chance for rain on both Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances are higher on Saturday but are still plenty low with scattered rain once again possible. Highs will be around 80 degrees on Saturday and possibly upper 80s on Sunday. Sunday highs will likely be in the mid 80s on Sunday.
Next week we could be dealing with some storms on Monday through Wednesday. Another upper low will slide by next week and will give us a chance for rain and storms. For the Speedway, the good news is that these rain storms are expected to heat during some downtime at the track. Community Day could be impacted by weather.
