Indiana Conservation Officers responded to the Empire quarry in Lawrence County early Sunday morning after a body had been reportedly floating in the water.

Officers pulled the body from the water around 5:30 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Jamie L. Fleenor, 37, of Bedford.  She was reported to have been walking a trial at the quarry pit next to an 80-foot high cliff, when she lost her footing and slipped over the edge.

An autopsy and toxicology test will be done later this week, but initial indications are that Fleenor drowned.
