INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Many of the Indy Parks Department’s outdoor pools and aquatic centers open Saturday, May 25. The city offers swimming lessons for children and one-on-one lessons for adults.
“The amazing thing about Indy Parks is the varied and vast offerings we have, 15 outdoor swimming pools, three indoor swimming pools that are operational now if you don’t want to be out in the sun,” said Maureen Faul with Indy Parks. “We have spray grounds that are very popular throughout the city and smaller splash pad areas where the little ones really enjoy running around.”
Several other city pools open June 8.
The Waterpark at the Monon Community Center in Carmel opens at 11 a.m. Saturday. This year the outdoor facility is offering cabanas for rent that can hold up to eight people.
Five YMCA of Greater Indianapolis outdoor pools also open on the 25th. The YMCA’s SPLASH program starts June 3, which is a free program that focuses on water safety for children.
The JCC’s Eskenazi Water Park opens Saturday at 11 a.m. The center recently repainted and made other improvements to the water park.
