Speedway Police said this year’s Indy 500 crowd was a lot tamer than last year’s crowd.
Officially, 23 people were arrested from 8 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday. Last year, police arrested about 50 people.
Fifteen of this year’s arrests were for public intoxication.
The remaining arrests were as follows:
- Disorderly conduct: 1
- Minor possession of alcohol: 2
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
- Invasion of privacy: 1
- Theft: 2
- Warrant: 1
