HANCOCK COUNTY, IND. — An overturned semi required lanes of I-70 to be blocked early Thursday morning.

According to dispatchers, sheriff deputies responded to the westbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 100 around 3:10 a.m.

Crews found a semi tractor-trailer overturned on the side of the highway.

Around 4 a.m., sheriff deputies and INDOT crews blocked westbound I-70 at State Road 9 / Exit 104 so the wreck could be cleared.

Then, around 6 a.m., crews opened one westbound traffic lane.

It’s not known how long the crash cleanup will take, however INDOT reported the closure at four hours. Drivers should expect slow traffic.

Dispatchers reported no injuries in this crash.

Motorists may use US 40 as a detour by exiting south on State Road 9, driving west on US 40, then north on Mt. Comfort Road to I-70.
