A pregnant woman has been injured after a wanted man caused her to crash into a building.

The accident happened near Jefferson Avenue and Michigan Street around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said a male driver came into the woman’s lane, forcing her to swerve. She then crashed into an abandoned building nearby.

The male driver was wanted for driving despite never having received a license. He was taken into custody.

The woman is between eight and nine months pregnant and possibly suffered a broken arm. She has been taken to the hospital over concerns the accident could have affected the unborn child.

The woman’s 6-year-old daughter was also in the car at the time of the accident but did not suffer any injuries.

The two vehicles never collided, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
