The plan to redevelop Massachusetts Avenue could soon move forward.

A $33.5 million bond package would help the city move IFD headquarters, Fire Station 7 and the Firefighters Credit Union. The proposal also includes a loan to help the American Red cross of Greater Indianapolis move.

Those moves must happen before developers can break ground on a mixed-used apartment and retail development.

The City-County Council will consider the measure over the next few weeks. If approved, construction could begin as soon as this fall.
