MUNCIE, Ind.—A new producer of alternatively powered heavy equipment for the governmental sector announced plans to relocate their corporate headquarters to Muncie, creating up to 288 new jobs.

Officials with DD Dannar joined local government leaders to announce the $4.65 million investment that will be used for real estate improvements, equipment and technology over the next four years.

“Today’s announcement is a testament to our community and the quality of our workforce. We know that this was a competitive project with many cities and states under consideration. High-tech engineering and vehicle assembly, significant capital investment, and good paying jobs are what Muncie and so many communities are aggressively seeking. DD Dannar LLC provides all of these,” said Mayor Dennis Tyler.

The new headquarters will be used to produce the Dannar Mobile PowerStation (MPS), a new vehicle for the government and military that will be used to perform maintenance and provide supplemental off-grid power.

“Muncie has the right people to produce the Mobile PowerStation with quality and pride” said Gary Dannar, CEO and Founder of DD Dannar, LLC.

Projections call for 20 employees in the first year, growing to 479 in year five. The average pay rate of the new jobs is projected to be $27.33 per hour.
