Police identify victim of fatal northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – Police have identified a man killed during a Monday night shooting on the northeast side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police said Carlton Jenkins, 34, Indianapolis, died in the 3800 block of North Layman Avenue. Police were called to the area around 7 p.m. and found a car crashed into a tree.

Police said Jenkins, the driver, had been fatally shot. A second victim was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the leg.
