NEW CASTLE – A man died after crashing his mail truck into a New Castle business Thursday night.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as Johnny Wyatt, 52, of Muncie. The crash happened just before 4:40 p.m. at 2224 N. State Road 3 at Neal’s Gutters. No one was inside the building when the truck crashed.

The vehicle, owned by Davis Mail Service, was transporting mail from New Castle to Muncie when it veered off the road and hit the building.

Investigators believe Wyatt was suffering from a serious medical problem when the crash happened, although they couldn’t confirm exactly what that was. The crash remains under investigation.
