INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed they have identified one of the suspects in an armed robbery of a taxi driver.

Police seek Jeffrey Carruthers for questioning. They believe he was one of two people who got inside a taxi cab and robbed the driver at gunpoint last Sunday night at the intersection of West 12th Street and North Pershing Avenue. Surveillance video captured the incident. Police said a juvenile suspect was also involved.

According to the police report, the 33-year-old driver told police he was dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of N. Pershing Ave. to pick up someone named “Dejaun.” When he arrived, the driver said three men approached the vehicle.

The driver said two of the men got inside the taxi, while the third suspect stood outside. He reported one of the suspects presented a small, silver handgun and placed it against the right side of his head.
