Police search for driver who fled scene of far east side accident

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are searching for a driver who fled the scene following a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of 25th Street and German Church Road just before 4 a.m.  When they arrived, authorities found a Jeep that had flipped over and a gray Ford Taurus in a ditch.

The driver of the jeep sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. However, the driver of the Taurus had fled the scene on foot.

Police are still looking for the driver.
