Snowden not expected to be on Bolivian president’s plane

The Austrian government said Wednesday it believes that Edward Snowden is not on the Bolivian presidential plane that diverted to Vienna overnight.

Austrian passport officials have checked the passports of everyone on the plane — but have not been on board the plane itself to inspect it, Interior Ministry spokesman Karl-Heinz Grunbock told CNN.

They accept the word of Bolivian President Evo Morales that the former NSA contractor is not aboard, saying “there is no reason to doubt that.”
