INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police have given the all-clear at Military Park after reports of a suspicious package. Investigators said the bag was full of clothes.
Crews secured the park as they checked out a backpack found on Wednesday morning. Officers told Fox 59 that the bag had been left unattended. At the time, they said there was no reason to think the bag was dangerous.
Investigators said the bag felt heavy and admitted it could be full of clothes or books. They put the bag through an x-ray to find out more about the contents. Police said they may have had to detonate the bag if they couldn’t figure out what was inside.
