Eli Lilly said it will freeze pay this year for most of its workers, including executives.

The company is expected to lose about 20 percent in revenue next year due to expiring patents on some drugs.

The pay freeze is an effort to make up some of that loss.

It’s expected to save Eli Lilly $400 million through 2016.
