HEAT WAVE STRENGTHENS
The peak of the heat is still coming. Current forecast high temperatures here are expected to push into the middle 90’s Thursday and Friday. The combination of heat and humidity will push the heat index in the city to a peak of 101° Thursday and possibly as high as 104° Friday.
HEAT WILL END SOON
The stretch of heat will end Saturday as a cold front settles through the state. The front will activate showers and storms before it arrives, most likely arriving here early Saturday. Humidity Saturday will remain rather high but a wind shift later in the day will allow drier, more comfortable air for Sunday. The drop in humidity appears to be a short one with tropical air surging again Monday and Tuesday.
