UPDATE: One injured in police action shooting in Noblesville

UPDATE: Police say the victim was a 27-year-old man from Noblesville

Officers responded to a call of a suicidal subject. They attempted to use less than lethal munitions and verbal commands on the man, but they were not effective. Officers perceived a threat coming from the individual and he was shot twice.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

All roads previously closed in the area have been re-opened.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind.  – One person was taken to the hospital late Saturday night after a police action shooting in Noblesville.

It happened in a parking lot near Riverview Hospital

According to Lieutenant Bruce Barnes with the Noblesville Police Department, the person shot was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in an unknown condition.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The area around 395 Westfield Road is shut down and there is no word on when it will reopen.

Noblesville police will release more information Sunday afternoon.
