Health Department investigating after hundreds of fish die inside neighborhood

A north side neighborhood is breathing easier after crews cleaned up a big mess in several area ponds.

More than 200 fish were found dead inside Champion’s Village.

Neighbors said it happened after the neighborhood association decided to clear out the lilly pads.

The Marion County Health Department was notified.

Officials are now investigating whether the chemicals used will have any lasting negative effects.
