FISHERS – A man accused of stealing a car from a Fishers neighborhood didn’t get very far Tuesday morning.

Fishers police say Jason Sinnett, 40, Indianapolis, stole a Jeep Wrangler from the driveway of a home in the 10200 block of Valley Ridge Circle. The homeowner called police around 3:30 a.m. to report the theft.

Police issued an alert and contacted neighboring police departments. Within an hour, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department located the stolen vehicle near 16th Street and Emerson. They stopped the car and detained Sinnett.

He was taken to the Fishers Police Department for questioning before being arrested on an auto theft charge and booked at the Hamilton County Jail.
