Timing the storms…cool down to follow!

A few showers already on the radar this morning, as the mugginess holds across the state.  We are watching some fog development in our far eastern counties but locally (Indianapolis) looks pretty quiet to start with temperatures in the lower 70s.  Storm chances will ramp up a bit with the arrival of our next cold front this afternoon.  Here is the breakdown for today:

I’m not going to rule out a spotty severe storm this afternoon with a local wind threat combined with some large hail stones…although most should fall below the severe threshold, we’ll be watching closely!  Here is where the greatest threat for severe will exist this afternoon:

The Brickyard 400 is fast approaching this Sunday!  It appears that only a slight shower chance exist at this time and mostly for the morning hours…Last year’s Brickyard was hot with a high of 91°, much cooler this year with highs in the upper 70s…
