INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Dozens of people injured after a fatal bus accident on the city’s northeast side Saturday afternoon continue to recover at area hospitals Sunday.

Updates on the patients’ conditions early Sunday morning revealed one person is still listed in critical condition at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Two others at that hospital are listed in good condition. Patients taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health told Fox59 they are currently treating five teenagers, who are all listed in good condition. Lastly, nine patients transported to Community North were treated and released, said hospital officials.

Three people, including a married couple, were killed after a Colonial Hills Baptist Church bus crashed near 96th Street and Keystone Avenue around 4 p.m. Emergency crews had to extricate at least five people from the bus after it flipped over on its side.

Investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene, who stated the bus appeared to exit off of I-465 at a high rate of speed.

Thirty-seven people were aboard the bus at the time of the accident.
