Firefighters battle two fire garages at neighboring west side homes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Crews with the Indianapolis Fire Department responded to the west side Thursday morning after two garages caught fire at neighboring houses.

Firefighters arrived to the 1000 block of N. Exeter Ave. at approximately 5:40 a.m. to find heavy fire showing. They were able to contain both fires in about 30 minutes.

Officials said the damage was contained to the garages. One house sustained $5,000 in damage, while the other had $15,000-worth of damage.

No injuries were reported.
