Just before 8 Saturday evening, a crop dusting plane was flying sound in the area of US 36 and State Road 1 in Randolph County, when the pilot said the plane lost power.

As the pilot attempted to land onto State Road 1 just south of the US 36 interchange, he lost control and the plane veered off the roadway into the ditch on the east side of the road.

The pilot, Brett A. Hickman, age 25 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was uninjured. He had been crop dusting in the area earlier and was on his way back to the Connersville Airport. Hickman was flying for McCormack’s Crop Care of Paragould, Arkansas.

The FAA has been contacted to further investigate the incident.
