INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  – Fire crews were called to the scene of an apartment fire early Tuesday morning, just north of 34th and Shadeland.

Tania Richardson had just headed to bed when she heard a pop in the kitchen. She got up to check it out and found smoke and fire.

She has difficulties extinguishing the fire herself, so she called 911 and left her unit to alert her neighbors.

Everyone in the building successfully evacuated, and fire crews had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

There were no injuries.
