INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The man most popularly known as “The Subway Guy” will visit the Circle City this weekend to share his story and promote others to follow a healthy lifestyle.

Jared Fogle, who gained popularity after losing nearly half his weight by eating Subway sandwiches, will speak at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis on Saturday to launch Subway’s new sponsorship of PlayFit, an event the museum hosts several times a year to encourage families to exercise and eat nutritiously.

“Our mission to provide extraordinary learning experiences extends throughout the museum. That certainly includes exercise and the food choices served to children and families,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president & CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “PlayFit days provide the perfect setting to reinforce these important messages by helping families identify healthful menu options, further educate children about good nutritional habits, and introduce them to positive role models.”

Fogle is expected to speak about his struggles as an obese, 425-pound student at Indiana University in the late 90’s and his commitment to changing his eating and exercise habits.

• Jared will tell his story at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• St.Vincent Back to School activities from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
