Car hits school bus on city’s near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Officials are investigating an accident involving an IPS school bus on the city’s near northwest side.

Authorities were dispatched to the intersection of West 30th Street and Lafayette Road around 4:32 p.m. Thursday.

The car began to smoke shortly after impact so officials removed the seven children from the bus, which was from IPS #67.

None of the students were injured. A back-up bus was brought in to take the children home.

The accident remains under investigation.
