Police: Intoxicated woman arrested after driving with 2-year-old granddaughter

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind.– An Evansville woman was arrested late Wednesday night after police said she was driving while under the influence with her 2-year-old granddaughter in the vehicle.

Tamara Tevault, 49, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a passenger under 18, a Class D felony.

Authorities said a trooper pulled Tevault over after her vehicle nearly struck his patrol car. Further investigation revealed Tevault had taken Clonazepam, Hydrocodone and a morphine pill earlier, said police.

Tevault was arrested and transported to the Vanderburg County Jail, where she is being held without bond.
