Defender Direct is helping Hoosiers attain home ownership

The company held a panel build for Habitat for Humanity Wednesday.

Nearly 200 employees came out to build the walls for a house in the company’s parking lot.  The company will assemble the home in its entirety throughout the next few months.

Working alongside the employees was future homeowner Tameka Caldwell. She’s thankful so many people are coming out to help her realize her dream.

“I call them family now. It’s nice meeting everyone I am just very happy and pleased that everyone came out and dedicated some time,” said Caldwell.

Habitat helps Hoosiers become homeowners by offering zero percent interest loans.  Prospective homeowners must pay the mortgage and complete at least 200 hours of sweat equity to partner with Habitat.
