The Phillips Temple downtown got a temporary reprieve Thursday.

Indiana Landmarks was just given more time to try to save the building on Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

IPS bought the 90-year-old temple in back 2011. The school district was going to demolish it to make a parking lot for Crispus Attucks high school.

A developer is now looking into converting the building into apartments.
