Woman reports attempted abduction on north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an attempted abduction after a young woman reported two people tried to pull her into a van on the north side.

The 19-year-old victim told police she was walking home from Marsh located at 86th Street and Ditch Road around midnight Friday, when a dark van pulled up to her. The woman reported the van was occupied by a white female with long blondish-brown hair and one male.

According to the police report, the victim said the female suspect was hanging out of the window and yelled “Hey, come here.” She said the female suspect attempted to grab her left arm, but the victim was able to pull away and took off running. The woman reported the van continued to follow her and the female suspect attempted to grab her again.

The victim ran into a nearby apartment complex, where she found an officer. According to the report, the suspects fled westbound towards Michigan Road.
