A Noblesville church has established a ministry fund in honor of a volunteer who was killed in a gas grill explosion.

Doug Gripp, 52, was making final preparations for Grace Community Church’s Men of Grace BBQ when the grill exploded Monday. The father of two died in that explosion.

Pastors were on hand Monday and Tuesday to help parishioners deal with the loss. They said they will continue to be available to help anyone affected by the tragedy.

The church said it is focusing its weekend services on Worship in the Midst of Tragedy. Pastors will be available during an extended time of prayer.

Information about Gripp’s funeral has not been released yet.

Investigators are still working to determine what led to the explosion.

Anyone interested in donating to the Grace Ministry Fund in Memory of Doug Grip may do so online.
