Marion Police have arrested a suspect in a deadly attempted robbery.

James Rush faces charges in connection with the death of Bernardino Guerrero.

Tuesday, officers were called to the 3700 block of South Houck Street. When they arrived, they found Guerrero suffering from a single gunshot wound. The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guerrero’s girlfriend told police Rush broke into the house through a back door. When Guerrero confronted him, police said, Rush shot him.

Rush then ran back outside.
