INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The man charged in the death of his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend is now in police custody.

On Aug. 25, authorities launched a search for murder suspect David Lawrence, 31, who is accused of fatally shooting Kelly Moss and then disposing her body in a remote area of Morgan County. Her body was found wrapped in a blanket, according to a police report.

Police said Lawrence was located out of state, but he is expected to be transported back to Indiana in the next couple of days.

Moss’ cousin told Fox59 that the couple began dating about a year ago and that Lawrence was both mentally and physically abusive toward her. The family member said Moss broke up with Lawrence about two weeks before her death.
