An Indianapolis woman suspected of carrying out a pair of robberies at Advance America locations in Lafayette and Brownsburg has been caught in Alabama.

Emily J. Karnes, 22, was arrested in Montgomery, Ala., on Thursday morning. She faces two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of theft. Police identified her from tips received from photos of the Indiana crimes. Karnes was taken into custody without incident; extradition is pending.

On Monday, Lafayette police responded to a robbery at the Advance America at 405 Sagamore Parkway South. At the time, police were looking for a woman in her 20s who wore a black and gray Under Armour sweatshirt and blue jeans. They said she showed a gun before leaving with some cash.

The same woman pulled off a similar robbery on Monday at an Advance America in Brownsburg, police said. They had described the suspect as “armed and dangerous.”
