Health care firm moving headquarters to Carmel

CARMEL – Health services firm American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) announced plans Friday to move its corporate headquarters from San Diego, Calif., to Carmel.

The company plans to create up to 675 new jobs by 2016.

Gov. Mike Pence and Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard were among those at the Friday morning announcement. The company will move into a 53,000-square-foot office at 12800 Hamilton Crossing Blvd., occupying three floors of the building. The move is expected to be completed by June 2014.

Launched in California more than 25 years ago, ASH provides specialty health care management, population health and fitness and exercise programs for health plans, insurance carriers, employer groups and trust funds. The company expects to start hiring later this year.
