Indianapolis hit 92° today so far so that puts us at 5 days at 90° or higher here in Indianapolis and that means your entire work week has been hot and humid!

high today

We have now had 10 days at 90° or higher this summer but it still pales in comparison to the summer of 2012 with 51 days total.  Temperatures remain warm and muggy overnight.  Temperatures here in the metro should only drop into the mid 70s while everyone else drops to the low 70s for Saturday morning.  Saturday will remain hot and humid once again.  It should also bring about another 90 degree high for Indianapolis.  But something different is finally happening for the weekend, rainfall chances are finally returning.  The afternoon weather models have come in much more wet than the previous runs.  This doesn’t mean that we are guaranteed to get rainfall, but our chance has definitely gone up a little bit.  Scattered showers will be possible Saturday and Sunday with the afternoon/evening hours being the best window. That’s when we hit the critical temperature for storms to develop.

Sunday, like Saturday, should also result in a high around 90° in Indianapolis.

A cold front will move through Monday morning, bringing an end to the heat and humidity.  Next week will be much less humid, cooler and comfortable!
