Several Different first responder units came together for a unique exercise.  The goal is the make sure that Indy is prepared for the worst.

Today’s exercise specifically focused on response for an EF-5 Tornado hitting Marion County. It tests how first responders communicate with one another when being overrun with injured people.

Meg Sinclair, EMS Operations Chief for Pike Township Fire, says Marion County is very lucky that it is resource rich with multiple hospitals, “This is important because this is taxing our resources and showing what would happen if we’re operating with limited resources.”

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana National Guard, and Pike Township Fire all participated.
