INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fire crews responded to a fire on the city’s west side early Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene of a garage fire on Westlake Rd around 12:45 a.m.

The residents, including a couple and two small children, made it out of the house safely without any injuries.

The family had a campfire a couple of nights ago, and they disposed of the embers by dousing them with water and putting them in a trash can next to the garage.

Investigators determined this was the cause of the fire.
