Trees down, power outages reported after Rushville storm

RUSHVILLE, Ind.—Several downed trees and power outages were reported in the city of Rushville after storms rolled through the area Tuesday afternoon.

The Rushville Police Department said trees were down across the city, and a tree was also reported to have fallen on a house on West 7th Street.

Authorities said the city experienced torrential downpour around 4 p.m. and it lasted about 15 to 20 minutes.

As of 9:45 p.m., more than 1,500 Duke Energy customers were without power in Rush County. Officials said they hope to have power restored by 10:15 p.m.
