The surviving victim of a hit-and-run accident was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Donte Brown suffered critical injuries after a truck driver crashed into him and his friend.

“He’s just going to be really happy to be home with his family really. RELAX! He said relax,” said Kiesha Greene, Brown’s mother.

A generous Fox59 viewer donated a hospital bed to help Donte with his recovery.

Brown’s friend, Christian Reede, was also on the moped at the time of the crash but later died from his injuries.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Reede.
